Bodyboarding in Lahinch

Once more this september we are greeted by  a gorgeous weather, so yesterday afternoon, it was head down to the Beach ( Lahinch for a change ) to see if i could improve my body-boarding skills ( I did not ) and do more picture coverage with the GoPro camera.
Not the biggest waves, but it was all fun under a gorgeous sun :D.

Bodyboarding under the rain

Last night we headed up to Spanish Point ( Co Clare )  for a surf session, well for me it was body-boarding, as i think I have given up any up of standing up on a surfboard ...  maybe I should try the long board...

Flat calm at the moment .....

Good waves, not big and quite regular, through very steep at times. The water was warm enough, but we had to support drizzles of rain...

On the water during sunset

That was also a good opportunity to test out my new toy, a Gopro camera.

Post surf, pre dinner.....

After that it was time for Dinner, and a delicious pan fried monk-fish in Milton Malbay, before going back to Limerick.

Irish sunset on the beach

It seems Irish summer has come early upon us, as a result I decided to leave work early and enjoy the waves of the Clare coast... well that was the initial plan... Nevertheless it feels good to be out in the sun, on a beach.

Here's a couple of picture of the sunset of this gorgeous day in Lahinch:

Evening surfing

Evening surfing ( after work ) are the dream in Summer in Ireland... lovely time down there.

Left work at 5pm, headed straight to Lahinch with my surfboard, and straight into the water. I am managing very slow improvement in my surfing abilities, anyway that was an excellent way to spend the evening. :D

Getting wet

Great weekend, half productive ( another series of boat repair for the diving club ), half sporty/active ( surf but mostly body-boarding in Spanish Point, Sunday with PJ ), and all that fun and entertaining, with the mandatory passage to the Wicked and Costello on Saturday night....
All good. :D

Surfing Ireland

Fun, Fun, Fun
Activities:Surf ; Pub: 1 on the beach ; Alcohol Units: 0

Finally, I went surfing in Ireland (first time on a surf ever), this tuesday. The Outdoor pursuit Club of my company, was organising a initiation session in Lahinch.
Simply brilliant, and I really enjoyed it. I even managed to stand on the board 4-5 times but then "ivre de joie", I simply fall...
That was a perfect way to finish a working day.

Decided to go to the Nancy Blake this wednesday, to enjoy some traditional irish music with the french lads (GP & NM). There I've seen Mel and a friend of her, a lovely irish girl, I've previously met, few months ago, during my salsa lessons in the Daffy's.The night finished, quite drunk, and singing...
Exactly the night out I needed.

For Information, every wednesday night, these traditional irish music takes plce in the Nancy Blake.

Whale watch
A very interesting site which keeps track of all whale sighting in Ireland:

The map is particulary good, and it seems we miss some Basking Shark cruising in Kerry, the week end we spent in Mizen Head.
