Instagram 2019-2020

I had re-enabled my instagram in 2019, but after almost a year I ( again ) realize that the app was sucking time out of me, about an hour a day if not more, of mindless scrolling, so once more it has now been disabled. I certainly miss the ability to share some photos, but even with an app (Google Digital Wellbeing is actually quite good, by allowing to put daily time cap specific to various app) to limit my access, I was not able to have the self control to stop checking my phone. I think i will use that blog again to share pictures, and stay away from Social media once more.

National Botanic Garden

The National Botanic Gardens are a little piece of heaven in the North side of Dublin

You can also see there a good share of squirrels (grey ones on that side of the Shannon )

There is also an annexe in County Wicklow, which is worth the trip, see National Botanic Gardens, Kilmacurragh

An old roll

Today I collected a the photographs developed of a very old roll - based on some of the pictures I am guessing it was 2006 or 2007.
It was a very good surprise to discover the pictures,

First rediscovering myself from 5 or 6 years ago.

I still remember that road, I took several picture of it with different cameras at the time, i think it was up in the Connemara, not very far from Achill Island.

Hymn - Francis Giacobetti

Great news, next year the Hymn project by F.Giacobetti will tour around the world in a series of expositions.
Giacobetti started that project in 1980, and it's a fascinating idea: basically he is photographying the iris ( and hands ) of famous people. I saw some of the picture, in an article in the French magazine Geo, few years ago, and the images of those iris are absolutely staggering.

See below a sample from the exposition website:

I'd love to be able to take pictures like those...

For your information: Giacobetti is a french photograph, famous for his pirelli calendar in the 1970, and for directing Emmanuelle 2.

2nd Blog

I've been looking for a while a blog called Grenoble Daily Photo , it shows a picture a Grenoble everyday. I used to live in Grenoble before coming to Ireland, so it's interesting to rediscover part of this city ( and even some parts I did not know).

So it kinda of inspirate me to do the same with the town I am currently living in : Limerick.

So here we go: Limerick Daily Photo
